Taqueria Zepeda
After growing up between Tijuana and San Diego and competing in both Iron Chef and Top Chef, Claudette Zepeda has learnt a thing or two about cooking mind-blowing tacos. She brings all that experience to Taqueria Zepeda, serving the realest tacos in Sydney.
We’re talking proper corn tortillas, pressed and grilled fresh daily, filled with beef tongue chile morita tomatillo salsa, crispy-skin pork belly with serrano tomatillo salsa, or Tijuana-style adobada pork with charred pineapple. Pair that with spicy margaritas and Mexican beers and you’re cooking with fire!
Libano Mexicano
Centuries ago Lebanese immigrants came to Mexico and began to influence the cuisine, bringing new dishes and ingredients. Libano Mexicano is a bar and restaurant in The Rocks fusing those two cuisines with mouth-watering results.
Their menu is packed with big fusion flavours - from pita tacos (or pitacos) stuffed with chicken and caramelised pineapple, to lamb shish kebab skewers with habanero salsa and churros with chocolate hummus dip.
El Camino Cantina
El Camino Cantina are a neon-lit Tex-Mex bar and restaurant in The Rocks that know how to throw a fiesta. Grab your amigos, throw on a free sombrero and order from a menu stacked with delicious tacos - including our personal favourite El Mac, inspired by the delicious Big Mac.
Once you’ve ordered a taco feast why not wash it down with a tequila concoction? El Camino Cantina aren’t playing when it comes to margaritas, serving them classic, frozen or cadillac (with a shot of Grand Marnier) in more than 5 delicious flavours.
Sake
Saké Restaurant & Bar may be a Japanese fusion restaurant, but hear us out - they serve some of Sydney’s best tacos. They fuse Mexican techniques and Japanese flavours, combining super fresh sashimi with avo cream, jalapeno and tomato salsa and an incredible crunchy shell.
And somehow these little beauties are one of the most delicious items on Sake’s menu.
The Argyle
